Gouache painting of arms holding yellow tulips on a white background. On the first layer of this piece I have an underlay of pink which pops through a bit and give the painting more vibrancy and depth. This original painting is set in an antique gold frame behind glass, which can be hung on a wall or set on a flat surface.

Gouache paint is bit of a lesser known art medium to some. I would describe it as a mix of watercolor and acrylic paint that dries to a matte finish. It is similar to watercolor in that it is activated by water - and like acrylic paint it is opaque.
